Every day, we humans rely heavily on our subconscious mind and at least 95% of what we do without thinking falls to the subconscious mind.

Plan Your Best Life:

Easily Change Habits, Lose Fears and Break Limiting Beliefs

Consider these:

Automatic actions and behaviours: Many of our actions and behaviours are driven by the subconscious mind, such as breathing, blinking, heart rate, blood chemistry, cellular processes, digestion and much more. Our taste drives and phytonutrient status (and that of our microbiome) are all subconscious.

Emotional responses: The subconscious mind is responsible for processing and regulating our emotions, including feelings of fear, anxiety and happiness.

Habits and patterns: The subconscious mind helps us to form habits and patterns of behavior which can be either positive and negative.

Processing and storing memories: The subconscious mind is responsible for processing and storing memories, as well as retrieving them when needed. While we sleep, it also deletes information it 'considers' unnecessary or not well integrated into our neural framework.

Making decisions: The subconscious mind plays a significant role in decision-making, influencing our choices and actions in ways of which we may not always be aware.

So. Why should this be of interest to us?

All of these subconscious processes are essentially programmed by evolution to revert to what is 'normal'. Some of these 'normals' are physiological and common to all humans. Others are unique to us alone and result from our upbringing, experiences, community culture and so on.

Exercise and our heart rate and breathing rate rise. Stop exercising and these drop back to a normal resting rate.

Start a fad diet and we might lose some weight. Move back to our usual way of eating, working out, sleeping, handling stress and the weight comes back.

Have you ever experienced the social influences of your friends and family telling you that you have lost too much weight and you should stop dieting or exercising or a range of other things so that you to do not rock the boat of their own perceptions?

Think of a habit that you might have or a belief you hold for whatever reason. They can be helpful in some instances too but loo for those that may be holding you back.

Habits are the brain's way of conserving energy and to avoid having to process incoming sensory details, data if you like. By having a habit the brain can fulfill the habitual outcome and dedicate the energy saved to other things.

Set any goal for yourself as we do with New Year's resolutions and it does not take long for our subconscious mind to bring us back to our pre-goal situation.

If the habit is a particular way of thinking or a belief that we hold as (our) truth, then the same data processing applies as above and we find that the beliefs we hold are our fallback position as a way to reduce the risk that changing our way of thinking might bring about.

These are survival strategies and saving energy or avoiding risks is to preserve the 'status quo'.
So how do we make positive changes stick and how do we overcome limiting beliefs, deep-seated fears and habits we don't want?

John Assaraf is a behavioural and mindset expert who has developed the concept of our Frankenstein vs. our Einstein mind to help us to understand the different ways our brain can function and how to make positive changes in our thinking. These two opposing systems within our minds can either empower us or limit us, depending on which one we nurture and focus on.

  1. The Frankenstein Mind represents the negative, self-sabotaging aspect of our thinking which keeps bringing us back to our norm. This part of our mind is rooted in fear, doubt and limiting beliefs and dislikes changes because they take energy and direct our brain's functions away from the other processes it continuously manages. The Frankenstein Mind often arises as a result of past negative experiences and conditioning, leading us to create self-imposed barriers that hold us back from achieving our goals and living our best lives. It focuses on worst-case scenarios, amplifies our perceived weaknesses and keeps us stuck in a loop of negativity.

  2. The Einstein Mind, on the other hand, represents the positive, empowering aspect of our thinking. It is rooted in creativity, curiosity and possibility. This part of our mind enables us to envision the best possible outcomes, harness our strengths and embrace new opportunities. The Einstein Mind fosters growth, learning and adaptation, allowing us to overcome challenges and achieve success.

Becoming healthy, exercising, getting enough quality sleep and reducing stress in our lives all entail commitment to the Einstein Mind.

To make changes in our thinking, we must appreciate and cultivate both systems, focusing on the following aspects:

  1. Awareness: Recognize when the Frankenstein Mind is at play and we need to consciously shift our focus to the Einstein Mind. Becoming aware of our thoughts and thought patterns is key to making lasting changes.

  2. Reframing: Challenge and replace negative, limiting beliefs with positive, empowering ones. By reframing our thoughts, we can create a new perspective and build a more supportive mindset.

  3. Visualization: Visualize our desired outcomes and future successes which will help strengthen the Einstein Mind and decrease the influence of the Frankenstein Mind.

  4. Mindfulness and Meditation: Engage in mindfulness practices and meditation to help quiet the Frankenstein Mind and nurture the Einstein Mind. This will promote a more balanced and focused mental state.

  5. Growth Mindset: Embrace a growth mindset, believing that we can learn, grow and adapt in the face of challenges. This will help us to overcome setbacks and foster resilience.

By understanding and appreciating the Frankenstein and Einstein mind systems, we can actively work on shifting our thinking. We can break free from limiting beliefs, recognize and dispel fears that we hold onto and that keep us effectively paralyzed from ultimately creating lasting, positive change in our lives.

Breaking Bad Habits and Over-coming Limiting Beliefs: Small Steps to a Healthier Lifestyle

If you are still with me here in this newsletter, then please correct me if I am wrong but my guess is that you want change in your life when it comes to better health and wellness. Perhaps a longer lifespan and a quality healthspan for your allotted years. Perhaps it is not just for yourself but for your immediate family and also your extended family and close friends.

I invite you to try the following method to switch from your Frankenstein Mind to your Einstein Mind:

Firstly, we breathe: As you breathe in, repeat to yourself; 'In with calm, focus and intention'. Then breathe out as though you are blowing through a straw and think; 'Out with stress, anxiety, overwhelm, fears and negativity'. Repeat this 6 times all up.

Brain scans indicate that this process switches blood flow in the particular region of the brain that correspond to the Frankenstein Mind and engorges the blood flow in the region that corresponds to the Einstein Mind.

These guided breaths move you away from the Frankenstein Mind's tendency to conform to your self imposed set points and on to a condition of readiness for creative and planned, positive changes you desire and direct.

With your Einstein Mind now engaged, you will more easily recall what I have been writing about in previous newsletters about the health and healing qualities of my 4 products in the Holy Grail to Health.

Then there is the feedback I have received from those who are now devotees of my range. I am honoured to have helped so many and I thank you for allowing me to guide your health care decisions.

You may have the limiting belief that you can't afford the $7.34 per day for the whole bundle but just the fact that the phytonutrients in the products tend to satisfy your Hidden Hunger so well that you can break the cultural habit of 3 meals a day and reduce it to 2 meals a day and 16 hours of intermittent fasting in between.

Think of the time you will gain.

You could reduce the amount of red meat, chicken and seafood that you eat to offset even more of the cost of what you eat to work on your life's purpose.

Your Einstein Mind will deliver other ways of covering the cost of the Holy Grail to Health.
